Visitors to the Grévin Museum can discover the wax statue of the double French Olympic judo champion Clarisse Agbegnenou from this Tuesday, October 4.

A ceremony took place the day before in the presence of the 29-year-old French athlete, born to Togolese parents.

Clarisse Agbegnenou, double Olympic judo champion, is entering the Grévin museum where she rubs shoulders with other great sports stars such as Teddy Riner, Cristiano Ronaldo and ex-biathlete Martin Fourcade.

The public can contemplate the statue the next day, October 4, in the museum created in 1882 by journalist Arthur Meyer and sculptor Alfred Grévin, which welcomes 700,000 visitors each year.

The statue of Clarisse Agbegnenou is installed in the space dedicated to athletes where she rubs shoulders with former basketball player Tony Parker or ex-biathlete Martin Fourcade.

With five world titles, five European titles and two gold medals won at the Tokyo Games last year, Clarisse Agbegnenou has the best record of French women's judo.

After a break due to maternity leave, she resumed training this summer for the Paris Olympics in 2024.
