With 20 minutes remaining, Gothenburg team captain Marcus Berg was sent off after receiving his second yellow card.
Berg wandered back towards the center circle when he got into an argument with referee Kristoffer Karlsson, who immediately pulled the card.
There was a violent uproar in the Gothenburg camp, the whole team was present, where Gustav Svensson held the discussion with Karlsson, who gestured that Berg should leave the field.
The audience threw objects in and the announcer had to go out with calls.
It was warned that further thrown objects would result in the match being abandoned.
