Kaiser: We over-reliance on Mabkhout... and we gave Bani Yas a tie

Al-Jazira coach, Marcel Kaiser, expressed his disappointment after his team drew 1-1 against its guest Bani Yas in the fourth round of the ADNOC Professional League yesterday, noting that his players did not take advantage of the numerical shortage in the ranks of their opponent, who completed the match with ten minutes from the 39th minute. players, and he said in a press statement: “We have relied excessively on striker Ali Mabkhout alone to achieve the victory.” The team also made a mistake in which their opponent received a free kick from which the equalizing goal came.

"Maybe we over-reliance on Ali Mabkhout to score goals, the wing players should have advanced more, especially after the numerical shortage in the ranks of Bani Yas, this did not happen, and we have to address these negatives in the near future," Keys said.

He added: "We did not play well, and we did not create many chances with the available spaces, after the red card that their player Gaston Suarez got. I waited for a while before making the change so that we could score a goal, but we did not succeed in that."

He continued, "We made some offensive modifications and played with only three defenders, and we only managed to score through a penalty kick in the last part of the match. We allowed them to modify at the end of the match and lost the three points due to the wrong passes and gave them a set ball, from which they scored the equalizer."

He concluded: "We were not at a good level and tried with a fighting spirit, but we did not win and we should not hold the players responsible in light of the presence of 6 or 7 players who played a large number of international matches recently and felt tired, and we have to move beyond this match and think about the next match directly."

On the other hand, the assistant coach of Baniyas team, Ahmed Al Hammadi, criticized the referee of the match, describing the penalty kick he awarded as incorrect, during his speech at the press conference attended on behalf of the team coach, Romanian Daniel Isila, who received a red card.

Al Hammadi said: "The penalty kick that the referee awarded was incorrect. We were subjected to arbitrary injustice. I thank the players of the team for the great effort they made in the match and the spirit in which they completed the match. The equalizing goal that we scored in the calculated time instead of wasted gave us our right."
