Belgium started the final strongly with a flawless round by Koen Vereecke and Kasanova de la Pomme.

Halfway through today's Nations Cup final, where eight nations battled it out for the coveted title, Belgium were one of four nations to keep a clean sheet.

24-year-old Gille Thomas, third rider in the team, boosted Belgium's chances of victory with a flawless ride.

The WC silver medalist from Herning, Jérôme Guery, then stood for an impressive finish with Quel Homme de Hus.

Another zero in the record, which meant that the Belgians secured both the victory and an Olympic qualification for Paris 2024.

- Now I feel very well, no more pressure, but there was a lot of pressure before my round.

We are so happy to have secured Olympic qualification, said Jérôme Guery in the victory interview with the FEI afterwards.

Today's triumph is Belgium's third Nations Cup final win since 2013, only the Netherlands have as many wins in the same span.

France won Thursday's opening team class and was in contention for today's victory for a long time, but ended up second on a total of 4 faults in the final.

Switzerland also stopped at 4 faults, the same as France, but came third with a slower overall time.

Just like Belgium, Switzerland also chased an Olympic qualification in today's final, but must continue the hunt for an Olympic qualification in the future.
