Morocco plans to bid to host the African Nations Cup instead of Guinea

Morocco intends to nominate it to host the African Nations Cup finals in 2025, after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided to withdraw the organization of this tournament from Guinea due to its lack of readiness, despite the government's efforts to host the tournament.

South African CAF President Patrice Motsebe announced the decision to withdraw the organization of the 2025 edition of Guinea due to its lack of logistical preparedness, in light of the increase in the number of teams participating in the tournament to 24 teams, which requires the establishment of stadiums, training grounds, hotels, roads and infrastructure.

Mohamed Maqrouf, the official spokesman for the Moroccan Football Association, told Reuters that Morocco intends to bid to host the 2025 edition.
