Napoli national football team defender Kim Min-jae was selected as the first Asian player to be selected as the Italian league's monthly MVP 'Player of the Month'.

Italian Serie A announced on the official website that Napoli defender Kim Min-jae was selected as the Player of the Month for September.
Kim Min-jae, who was nominated along with top stars such as Lazio's Savichi and AC Milan Hernandez, became the first Asian player of the month to receive the most votes in a fan vote.
Kim Min-jae quickly melted into the team after moving to Naples in July.
He played an iron wall defense enough to be called the 'Wall of Naples', conceding 0 points per game, and actively participated in the attack during set pieces, scoring two goals, greatly contributing to the team's sprint.
