Brazilian defender Emerson Royal spares no effort to improve his level and impress his Italian coach at Tottenham Antonio Conte, and has spent about one million euros to simulate the experience of Moroccan defender Ashraf Hakimi.

According to the British newspaper "The Sun", Emerson, who moved to Tottenham in the summer of 2021 from Barcelona, developed a plan with his assistant team led by his father, Emerson Zulu, which included the acquisition of many special equipment with the aim of raising his level to meet the requirements of coach Conte.

The Italian coach is known for his preference to rely on defenders with great offensive capabilities to occupy the halls of the stadium and to give the necessary addition to the attacking elements in the matches, a role that Moroccan Ashraf Hakimi played remarkably during his stay with Inter Milan two seasons ago under the leadership of Conte.

And according to the British newspaper report, Emerson is doing a lot of extra work outside of Tottenham training to enhance his fitness, with a lot of focus on recovery.

Emerson spent 800,000 pounds (more than 900,000 euros) to buy a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, which helps the user receive more oxygen to recover faster after training and matches.

The Brazilian defender's efforts included assigning a specialist to prepare a detailed report on Ashraf Hakimi, reviewing the most important characteristics of the Moroccan defender and his abilities that allowed him to shine under Conte's leadership.

The 23-year-old Brazilian defender has also enlisted Dr. Fabiano de Abreu Agrela, a neuroscientist and human behavior expert, to help deal with the psychological stresses of high-level competition, increase his ability to focus and reduce the effects of anxiety.

Emerson participated as a substitute in Tottenham's 6-2 victory over Leicester before the international break, but he made a start in 18 matches before that.

The efforts of the former Barcelona player paid tribute to his Italian coach, and Conte said in previous statements that Emerson had made a "good improvement" compared to last season.
