Newcastle agree to sign Australian striker Cole

Newcastle United, the English Premier League club, said today that it has agreed to sign young Australian international striker Garang Cole from the Central Coast Mariners in the Australian League for the game.

Cole, 18, who scored four goals for the Australian club last season, will join Eddie Howe's Newcastle United in the next transfer window in January 2023.

No financial details related to the deal were disclosed.

"During my childhood in Australia, the Premier League was the most important tournament for everyone," Cole said in a statement.

Cole participated in his first international match with the Australian national team during the team's 2-0 victory over New Zealand last Sunday, when he participated as a substitute for one of his colleagues, and made an outstanding performance and participated in preparing the second goal for his team.

Cole is also expected to be part of Australia's squad for the World Cup, which begins in November in Qatar.
