A 41-year-old Franco-Algerian businessman was arrested in Qatar, where he resided, in January 2020. He was only able to leave the emirate nine months later, after signing an agreement obliging him to keep the silence.

During this period, he will have spent more than five months in detention in extremely harsh conditions.

According to his lawyers interviewed by Libé, the forties had in his possession compromising documents for Qatar in general, and for Nasser Al-Khelaïfi in particular.
