The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy has called on football fans coming to Doha to attend the 2022 World Cup, to learn about the travel and return policy to Qatar for COVID-19, which the Ministry of Public Health announced its update on August 31.

In light of the new procedures, visitors to Qatar who hold a Haya card during the tournament period, whether vaccinated or not, must adhere to a number of measures;

It includes submitting a certificate stating that a PCR test was conducted to detect Covid-19 (negative result) no more than 48 hours before the flight date, to the airline’s employees at the departure airport, or an official certificate stating that the rapid antigen test was conducted “(Its result is negative) a maximum of 24 hours before the date of travel, noting that the home test is not approved, and children under 6 years of age are excluded from taking the Covid-19 test.


Quarantine for travelers to Qatar

The ministry revealed the cancellation of quarantine procedures for all travelers coming to Qatar, whether vaccinated or not, regardless of the country of departure.

Cases of HIV infection that will be discovered in Qatar will be subject to sanitary isolation measures in accordance with the procedures of the Ministry of Public Health.

In addition, visitors will not need to take Covid-19 tests after arriving in Qatar, in addition to not having to take a test to detect infection with the virus before leaving the country, but travelers are advised to review travel requirements to their destinations, and follow the required procedures.

Wearing a mask is mandatory in all health care facilities and public transportation across the country, and all visitors aged 18 years and over must download and activate the EHTERAZ app on their smartphones upon arrival in Qatar, and the health status should be in the EHTERAZ app. Precaution in green, so that the visitor can enter closed public places in the country, where the health status in green confirms the application not to be infected with Covid-19.


Healthcare services in Qatar

Visitors to Qatar can obtain health care services in any of the government or private hospitals, health centers, clinics and pharmacies in the country, and health services for emergency and urgent cases are available in government hospitals free of charge for Haya card holders.

The Ministry of Public Health in Qatar stresses the need for visitors to obtain travel insurance, which covers health care services, for the duration of their stay in the country.
