The Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation and the Abu Dhabi Association of Professional Jiu-Jitsu (AJP) announced the organization of the Asian Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship next Saturday and Sunday at the Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi.

The tournament attracts the participation of a number of the world's top ranked players, especially those with black and brown belts, as well as hundreds of players from various clubs and academies in the categories: juniors, youth, amateurs, professionals and professors from inside and outside the country.

The tournament represents an important opportunity to enhance the classification of the participating players and raise their readiness to participate in the upcoming world championships, such as the Grand Slam rounds and the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship.

Mubarak Al Menhali, Director of the Technical Department of the Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said in a press statement: “This important continental championship for the professional category embodies the existing cooperation between the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation and the Abu Dhabi Professional Jiu-Jitsu Association, which aims to organize a series of international tournaments that attract the brightest international stars, In line with our plans, which are based on the vision and support of the wise leadership, to enhance Abu Dhabi’s position as a home for jiu-jitsu, and a preferred destination for elite champions of this sport who desire continuous development and enrich their balance of distinguished achievements.”

In turn, the Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Professional Jiu-Jitsu Association, Tariq Al-Bahri, said: "The Asian Championship completes the series of championship tournaments around the world, five of which are held inside the country during the 2022 season. Abu Dhabi International Award for Professional Jiu-Jitsu, where the tournament awards 1,400 ranking points to the winners of the first places.
