National team member Johanna Fällman extended her contract this spring and is doing her eighth straight season with Luleå this year.

She has been involved in winning five SM gold medals with the team.

But in the premiere against HV71, Fällman was hit by a shot that was so bad that she suffered a fracture of the elbow bone Ulna.

- It was completely off.

I really must have been extremely unlucky, that it finds that gap between the guards and also hits the edge of the leg.

The 32-year-old veteran back was cast and later told that the injury required surgery.

Fällman now tells SVT Sport that she is recovering after a painful operation that took place last Friday.

- It was very successful to the extent that I don't have to wear a cast now.

It is very nice.

How long do they say you'll be gone?

- It depends on how it heals, but I think they will be back in full training around Christmas.

How does it feel then?

- It feels quite a long time.

But when something happens, you have to take it from there... But it's not so much fun, I'd rather contribute on the ice.
