Yuta Watanabe, who joined the NBA = American professional basketball Nets, met before the team's camp-in and talked about his enthusiasm for joining the team, saying, "I want to become a player that the team needs."

Last season, 27-year-old Watanabe played in 38 games with the Raptors, based in Toronto, Canada, and after the season, he became an FA = free agent and signed with the powerful Nets based in New York.

The Nets have not disclosed Watanabe's contract, and Watanabe also posted on his SNS, "It is still an unguaranteed camp contract," and the goal is to become a member in the regular season first.

When asked about his enthusiasm for the fifth season of the NBA at the press conference, Watanabe said, "First of all, I have to start from where I will remain in the team, but I would like to look forward to such a challenge. The Raptors also signed a contract from the same situation. It's been two seasons since I won, so I don't think it will be easy this time, but I want to enjoy it first."

The Nets are one of the most popular teams in the NBA, with many star players including four-time scoring champion Kevin Durant. I'm very excited. I've had offers from other teams, but the Nets were the ones I felt most passionate about, so I decided to join," he said with a smile.

Watanabe will participate in the team's camp from the 27th and aims to enter the bench in the opening match against the Pelicans at home next month.

The first match of the regular season is scheduled for November 4th against the Wizards, to whom Rui Hachimura belongs.
