Lancaster (52) will replace Laurent Travers, currently director of rugby for the Top 14 club, who becomes "chairman of the board".

“We wanted to bring a new way of working, to give it a boost and a different vision.

We received a lot of applications.

We chose Stuart Lancaster, ”explained Travers, who trained the Ile-de-France club in tandem with Laurent Labit between 2013 and 2019.

A four-year contract

“He corresponds to what we were looking for: he knows the very high level, set up the England game project, chained titles with Leinster… He has a lot of experience”, continued Travers about Lancaster, who signed up for four years.

Coach of the XV de la Rose between 2011 and 2015, with whom he was eliminated in the group stage of the 2015 World Cup at home, the former 3rd wing line had been assistant coach of Leinster since 2016.

Lancaster has notably won the Pro 14 four times (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), the championship of the Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Italian and South African provinces.
