Sweden's ladies took EC gold in team gymnastics.

But Finland's Karoliina Kaitanen stole part of the show, when she did somersaults with only one hand on the tumbling mat.

A clip that created a lot of attention.

Injured as a circus acrobat

Now comes the explanation behind the one-handed show.

- I injured my right shoulder and wrist in 2009 when I was working as a circus acrobat.

I had to have surgery.

The hand works, but I can't put the weight required for a volt on it.

- I have been training with one hand since then.

"Must find his own way to compete"

When SVT's commentators saw the vaults, they were impressed to say the least.

- I am so impressed that you can drive your most difficult laps with just one hand on the carpet, said SVT's expert Simon Nyberg.

- Unbelievable, the commentator AnnaMaria Fredholm filled in.

How hard is it to use only one hand?

- When I started with one hand, it was a bit scary, and difficult.

There is a significantly higher risk of injury when using only one hand.

But now I'm used to it.

You have to find your own way to compete, concludes Kaitanen.
