According to reports, in the 2022-2023 season, a total of 20 teams will participate in the CBA league, and the whole season is divided into regular season and playoffs.
In the regular season, the 20 participating teams were divided into four groups according to the final ranking of the league last season, and the competition was carried out according to three rounds in the group and two rounds outside the group. The top 12 teams in the regular season entered the playoffs.
The playoffs are scheduled to start in early April 2023, with 12-8, 8-4, semifinals and four rounds of the finals.
During the regular season of the new CBA league, there will be two FIBA national team competition windows and the 2023 Spring Festival holiday. On the premise of ensuring that the national team has sufficient time to prepare and participate in the men's basketball World Cup qualifiers, the league will play as many games as possible. The number of games is arranged, of which the regular season will be increased from 38 rounds in the 2021-2022 season to 42 rounds.
