FIFA announced today, Friday, the launch of a new application that gives players the opportunity to get a detailed look at their individual performance on the field, and analyze all their data during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, between 20 November and 18 November. next December.

In a statement published on its official website today, FIFA said, "In line with the vision of 2020-2023, in which the FIFA President seeks to exploit technological development to accelerate the advancement of football more and more, the players participating in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be able to obtain a detailed look at Their performance on the field through the application (FIFA players)."

He added: FIFA developed this application based on data provided by professional players, and in cooperation with the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPRO), and the “FIFA Players” application will be used for the first time in the World Cup in Qatar 2022, after the survey that In this context, the players' interest in seeing their performance data, and their desire to access this information easily.

"On this basis, the "FIFA Players" application will provide the opportunity for each player to take a look at the data related to his individual performance after each match," FIFA added.

The International Federation explained that this data will be subject to a synchronization process in order to enable players to view the most prominent aspects of their performance in detail, and from different angles.

He added, "This new application will put at the disposal of each player a set of photos taken of him during the most prominent moments of each match he plays in the World Cup, which he can save or publish on social media platforms, and the application will allow players to directly view the statistics of their favorite match."

Players will be able to use the application upon their arrival in Qatar to start participating in the World Cup.

The application was tested in the Arab Cup

The application was tested during the Arab Cup 2021, as it allowed players from different teams to view data related to their individual performance, and it was revealed to the teams participating in the World Cup during the teams workshop hosted by Doha recently.

“For the first time in a World Cup, participating teams as well as all players will have direct access to their performance data and related videos after each match,” said Johannes Holzmueller, FIFA Director of Innovation and Football Technology. on the direct interaction of players, which is another impressive example of how FIFA is using the best of technology to improve the football experience for the key players in the game when they are on the field.”

This innovation is the first tangible result of the existing cooperation between FIFA and FIFPro with the aim of developing standards and best practices for the collection, protection and use of personal performance data of players, as the two bodies are working to create a charter of footballers data rights in order to develop these standards, with players transparently informed of their rights related to privacy in accordance with what It is stipulated in applicable legislation, such as the European General Data Protection Regulation.
