The coronavirus creates worries for the Swedish table tennis national team.

The squad - which will fly to Chinese Chengdu on Sunday - has been decimated since Jon Persson, EC bronze medalist in doubles this summer and ranked 39th in the world, tested positive for covid-19.

Something Dagens Nyheter was first able to tell.

For SVT Sport, Jon Persson comments on the announcement.

- No height, says the 35-year-old.

Persson is not replaced in the squad.

Without Sweden's men - who took bronze at the last team WC in 2018 in Halmstad - travel with the quartet Kristian Karlsson, Truls Möregårdh, Mattias Falck and Anton Källberg

"First positive, today negative"

National team manager Thomas Buza previously confirmed that one more selected player had tested positive for covid-19, SVT Sport can tell you that it is Anton's sister and reigning Swedish champion Stina Källberg.

- She first tested positive, but has today tested negative.

If it's negative tomorrow too, she can go to China, says the women's national team's national team captain Tobias Bergman.

How is she?

- She hasn't had any symptoms, and we were at a competition last week in Kazakhstan and she was tested before that.

Stina was surprised when the first covid test turned out to be positive.

In addition to Stina Källberg, Linda Bergström, Filippa Bergand and Matilda Hansson are part of the squad.

If Källberg is stopped, Rebecca Muskantor will take her place in the team.
