Nozomi Tanaka, who won the 8th place at the Tokyo Olympics, won the women's 1500m at the All Japan Business Team Championship that opened in Gifu City with a new tournament record of 4:10.41.

The track and field All Japan Business Team Championship is held for three days from the 23rd, with the top athletes who participated in the Tokyo Olympics also entering.



On the first day, the 23rd, the women's 1500m final was held, and Tanaka, who was the first Japanese athlete to win in this event at the Tokyo Olympics, participated in Group 2.



Tanaka was at the back of the line on the first lap, but gradually moved up from there, and after 1,000 meters he gradually moved up and took the lead.



He picked up even more speed in the final lap spurt and held on to finish first, winning with a new event record of 4:10.41.



After the race, Tanaka said, "After the disappointing result at the World Championships in July, I feel like I'm not enjoying the race because I haven't been able to keep up with my practice even though I've been practicing well. I can't say it's been done, but I want to switch and connect it in the future."



In addition, Ran Urabe, who represented the Tokyo Olympics in this event, placed 11th, and at the Tokyo Olympics, she placed 7th in the 10,000m, while Rika Hironaka, who competed in the 5,000m, stalled in the final stages and finished 18th.
