On Thursday, the Swedish Golf Association announced that it will not renew the collaboration with Henrik Stenson.

The decision is a consequence of the Swedish star signing for the Saudi-backed LIV tour.

 - We think that Henrik, through his involvement in LIV golf, can no longer act as a role model for Swedish golf juniors, says general secretary Gunnar Håkansson to TT.

"It was expected"

The message does not surprise golf profiler Peter Hanson.

- It was very much expected.

Right now it is judged that he should not be a representative at the confederation level, says the 44-year-old who was an expert for SVT Sport at the Skaftö Open last summer.

Do you think it is right?

- It is an infected situation and he is receiving a lot of criticism from many quarters right now.

One must also have respect for all the fantastic work Henrik has done for Swedish golf.

"Sent some text messages"

Hanson himself has played with and against Stenson on many occasions.

Have you had any contact after he went on the LIV tour?

- We have sent some text messages and such, but he has had a lot to do.

So it hasn't been much.
