The 29-year-old striker Mikael Ishak made his debut in the national team back in 2015. But then on a January tour and games in the "real" national team it has not yet happened.

2018 was the last time he was in the squad but had to withdraw due to injury concerns.

Now he has finally got his big chance and ahead of the national team's matches against Serbia and Slovenia, Alexander Isak has been forced to withdraw due to injury.

Which means that the attack site is now wide open.

SVT Sports expert Daniel Nannskog wants to see Ishak from the start against Serbia.

- I would actually like to see Mikael Ishak, he is hot, in great shape and scores a lot of goals for his Lech Poznan in the Polish league and in the Europa Conference League.

The 29-year-old's incredible goalscoring form

But Nannskog believes that national team captain Janne Andersson chooses Viktor Gyökeres, who belongs to Coventry in the Championship, before Ishak.

- It mostly leans towards Viktor Gyökeres or Robin Quaison who he will throw in.

But it would have been cool to dare a little with Ishak, with this hysterical form he's in right now.

For Mikael Ishak this season, it has been ten goals and five assists in 15 competitive matches in Lech Poznan.

After a bad start to the season, the team has improved and is ninth in the league and second in the group in the Europa Conference League.

Last season the striker was responsible for 18 goals and the season before that 20 goals.

On September 24, Sweden will face Serbia away, to meet Slovenia three days later, when the last two games in the Nations League await.
