France will face Austria in a very tense internal climate, between the Pogba affair, ecological controversies and the cascade of player injuries.

However, coach Didier Deschamps remains focused on the game and only wants to think about the performance of his team.

The French team faces Austria on Thursday evening at home, at the Stade de France.

Two months before the World Cup, the Blues will try to reassure themselves despite a particular context.

The news of the French team is polluted by business, a first for Didier Deschamps since taking office in 2012, with the exception of the Benzema affair.

Didier Deschamps imperturbable

Paul Pogba's troubles affect the locker room, in particular Raphaël Varane who gave him his support at a press conference.

"I'm not going to talk about the legal part. But he's a friend, so I support him," said the player.

"He faces challenges, including this injury. He has to be in good spirits to be able to come back as quickly as possible. He's an extraordinary player. We want to see him on the land and see it flourish."

The climate is particularly heavy but Didier Deschamps remains imperturbable.

The coach is in his bubble: "The atmosphere is what it is. Me, I focus on what is happening internally, I am cut off from the outside world," he explains.

"What interests me is what I see, what I have to do with my players, even if there, it has been accentuated by the number of changes and substitutions. I am also adapting."

The coach is also faced with an unprecedented injury cascade.

The group is less experienced but can count in goal on Mike Maignan, excellent with Milian AC as well as on Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni and of course, on the essential Kylian Mbappé.

The Blues, who did not win a match in June, hope to relaunch in the League of Nations in order to avoid relegation.
