First reaction of a sponsor of the French football team to the image rights affair, which the FFF agreed to renegotiate after a new pressure from Kylian Mbappé.

The EDF striker bent his federation after threatening not to participate in a photo shoot on Tuesday.

Alain Béral, president of the National Basketball League (LNB) but also vice-president France of the fast-food chain KFC, one of the major partners of the French team until 2023, described this behavior as “caprice”, on the Sport Business Club website.

“It's a problem between the Federation and Kylian Mbappé.

Not ours”, he continued while threatening to “enforce our rights”: “We paid for something clear”.

According to him, the problem is “resolved” and he announces that he has not yet had an exchange with the Federation regarding these changes.

But he is especially worried about the precedent that Kylian Mbappé could create: it will be "the end of the financing of federations and leagues by private actors, if the players no longer want to sign".
