At the Under-18 Baseball World Cup held in the United States, Japan beat South Korea 6-2 in the third-place play-off to finish third for the first time since the 2017 tournament.

The Japanese national team, which was selected from the players who participated in Koshien in the spring and summer of this year, lost to Taiwan in the first league and Korea and the United States in the second league, and missed the finals. We faced South Korea in the 3rd place match.



In the game, in the second inning with a 1-point lead, Matsuo Shion of Osaka Toin High School scored 5 points with a 2-point timely hit, and Konan High School pitcher Ayuta Ikumori started the pitcher. And Tsugutaka Kawahara, a pitcher from Osaka Toin High School, kept the 7th inning to 2 runs.



Japan beat South Korea 6-2 to finish third for the first time in five years since the tournament was held in Canada in 2017.
