In professional baseball, the 6th-placed NC Dinos caught up with 5th-placed KIA Tigers by one game and a half, making the competition for the postseason more intense.

In the away match against Kiwoom Heroes held at Gocheok Sky Dome, NC defeated Kiwoom ace Ahn Woo-jin with a two-run home run from Jeong Jin-gi in the 3rd inning and a double RBI double from Yang Eui-ji, and won 5-1.

As KIA lost to the Samsung Lions and fell into the pit of a seven-game losing streak, their ride with NC was reduced to 1.5 games.

NC lost 7 straight victories against Gocheok Dome and 3 straight victories against Kiwoom at the same time, and since September 23 of last year, they dedicated 5 victories to Ahn Woo-jin, and won after almost a year.

Woo-jin Ahn turned NC Noh Jin-hyeok by striking out in the second inning, making him the 15th and domestic pitcher to strike out 200 in a season for the first time in 10 years since Ryu Hyun-jin in 2012.

KIA lost to Samsung 9-6 in Daegu and fell into a shocking 7th consecutive loss.

4th place KT Wiz beat the Lotte Giants 6-3 thanks to Anthony Alford's performance, who scored 3 RBIs including a home run as soon as he came back from a finger injury, and narrowed the gap with 3rd place Kiwoom to two games.

Leader SSG Landers defeated the Doosan Bears 14-13 with Oh Tae-gon's finish-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning after a scramble of nine home runs and 37 hits.

SSG beat the second-placed LG Twins, who were tied 5-1 by the Hanwha Eagles, by three and a half games.
