In the past few days, national team captain Janne Andersson took the squad to the Nations League gathering, where Blågult is pitted against Serbia and Slovenia.

Alexander Jeremejeff, shooting league leader in the Allsvenskan, was missing from the names.

According to Andersson, the player was "just under the line" to be taken out.

- It is clear that you had a little hope.

I guess I haven't thought about it much more than when the selection was.

What should I say?

It has felt good all season.

At the same time, there are more damn good strikers, you just have to keep fighting, says Alexander Jeremejeff to SVT Sport.

If he himself thinks he should have been selected?

- I don't know if what I think matters that much.

I have done very well in the Allsvenskan and we lead the series.

But I keep thinking about my team and the way I play.

Which style of play or striker he (Janne Andersson) wants and needs, he chooses.

I'll just keep going.

The striker expresses his disappointment

Jeremejeff develops his feelings.

- Of course you are disappointed, but there is not much you can do.

If you score a lot, there will be questions and thoughts about it, but it's not that much.

There is disappointment, I won't lie about that.

The national team captain said during the selection that Jeremejeff "isn't scoring goals right now".

The 28-year-old, who has scored three goals in the last four games, is himself on a different track regarding his results.

- If you just look at the numbers, it's not like that (that the goals have decreased).

I have a pretty good goal average, I've had that throughout the season.

But the national team has done well for a longer period and it is clear that he has a handle on the players he wants.
