The media office of Al-Wasl Club confirmed that the club’s legal department is preparing a full response to the complaint received by the “Emperor” from the Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee, regarding the legality of Argentine player Thomas Shankalay’s participation in the Al-Wasl and Al-Bataeh match in the second round of the ADNOC Professional League.

The statement of the media office stated that “regarding the question about the complaint submitted by Al-Bataeh Club, which was received by the club regarding the participation of the player Thomas Shankalay in the two teams’ match, the club’s management confirms that it has received the complaint and that it has been transferred to the club’s legal department.”

She added, "The legal department will prepare the response and send it to the Disciplinary Committee during the legal period it has specified, which extends until September 20."

It is noteworthy that Al-Bataeh Club submitted a complaint to the Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee, requesting that it be considered a winner over Al-Wasl in the two teams’ match that took place in the second round of the ADNOC Professional League and ended with the “Emperor” winning 2-1.

The management of Al-Bataeh Club filed a complaint against the participation of Al-Wasl player, Argentine Thomas Shankalay, noting that the player's participation in the match was illegal.

Al-Bataeh based his complaint on the fact that the player was suspended for three matches in the Argentine league when he was playing for Racing Club, before participating with Al-Wasl in the ADNOC UAE Pro League.

He pointed out that Shancalay did not complete the disciplinary suspension sentence in the Argentine league, and that there is a regulation in the International Football Association that obliges the player to complete the suspension period when moving to another team, even if he is in a second country.

The Disciplinary Committee of the UAE Federation gave Al-Wasl Club until September 20 to respond to Al-Bataeh's complaint.

Pizzi: Al Wasl missed out on Dibba in the first half

Al-Wasl coach, Argentine Juan Pizzi, confirmed that the "Emperor" missed the opportunity to beat Dibba Al-Fujairah, the day before yesterday, in the two teams' match in the third round of the ADNOC Professional League, pointing out that the defensive method in which the "Nawakhida" played made it difficult for Al-Wasl in the match. .

"The match was difficult because Dibba Al Fujairah played defensively and we could have achieved a better result than a draw, especially if the players took advantage of the opportunities they obtained in the first half," Pizzi said in a press conference.

For his part, the coach of Dibba Al-Fujairah, Zoran, confirmed that "Al-Nawakhida" played a very good match, and said: "We played against a very big team, Al-Wasl, and there is no doubt that our task was difficult, especially after we lost the first two matches against Al-Jazira and Al-Ahly youth."

A regulation in the International Federation obliges the player to complete the suspension period even if he transfers to play in another league.
