Qualified for the World Cup "track" in France

Youssef Mirza.. eighth in the world in the classification of "bikes"

The captain of the national cycling team, Yusuf Mirza, achieved a new achievement by occupying the eighth place in the world rankings in the points race with a score of 900 points, to guarantee the official ascension to the World Track Championship to be held in France, and this is the first achievement of its kind in the history of Emirati cycling.

This came after Mirza won gold in the points race in three consecutive championships.

The star and captain of the cycling team succeeded in achieving the gold medal in the points race at the Asian Track Championship in New Delhi, India, and repeated the same achievement by winning the gold of the Islamic Solidarity Tournament in Turkey, then winning the gold of the Asian Track Cup, which was recently held in Thailand, to climb to eighth place in the world, as well as the first Asian and Arab in this type of race.

The head of the Cycling Union, Mansour Bouassiba, said: "The solidarity of all the team's players, and their recent success in reaping many achievements at the Arab and continental levels, was a natural result of the efforts made by these young people," noting that the union's keenness to allow national team players to participate in various races increased Their strength and experience, until the Emirates bikes became a difficult number in Asia.

Bu Osaiba told "Emirates Today": "During this year, Muhammad Al-Mutaiwee and Safia Al-Sayegh succeeded in climbing to the World Road Championship in Australia officially without claim cards, in the under-23 category, and Youssef Mirza also climbed, which means that the UAE bikes I have constantly reached the world championships and compete for them, and we still have hope that Mirza will rise to the Paris 2024 Olympics.”

For his part, Mirza expressed in a press statement his happiness to climb to the world championship, and pointed out that the achievements increase the responsibility placed on him and his teammates.
