A week ago, Thomas Tuchel was fired as manager of Chelsea after the shock defeat against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

It soon became clear that former Östersund coach Graham Potter, who has coached Brighton in recent years, was the man to take over.

Tonight he made his debut in the CL match against Salzburg.

And Potter, who stated at the press conference that he had never previously been a coach in a Champions League match, was seen waving to the home supporters at Stamford Bridge before kick-off.

After a rather uneventful first half where Chelsea controlled the game and Mason Mount came closest to giving the team the lead when he caressed the post with a long shot, the second half became more eventful.

Just a minute into the second half: Mount with a sideways cross that got past an entire Salzburg backline before landing at the feet of Raheem Sterling, who slotted the ball inside the far post.

Sterling's 25th Champions League goal in his career.

But then came the cold shower, when Noah Okafor played by substitute Adamu equalized for Salzburg.

After that, Chelsea pressed hard - including a shot on the crossbar - but Potter's first game as a new coach in the big team goes down in history as a cross.
