Egyptian media confirmed that Egypt will apply to host the finals of the 2036 Olympic Games, during the visit of the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, to Egypt on December 23.

The website "Filgol" stated that: "Bach's visit will witness a meeting with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, on the 24th of the same month, as part of an official delegation representing the International Olympic Committee."

He added, "The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhi, and the President of the Olympic Committee, Hisham Hatab, are inspecting the headquarters of the Egyptian Olympic Committee at Cairo International Stadium, in preparation for receiving Thomas Bach."
