The WE League, a women's professional soccer league entering its second season this year, held a board meeting on the 14th and approved the entry of Cerezo Osaka Sakai from the third season starting in 2023.
Cerezo Osaka Sakai is a team in the Nadeshiko League that finished in the last four in last season's Empress's Cup.
The WE League currently consists of 11 teams, and from 2023, the third season, 12 teams will compete in the league.
On the other hand, at the board meeting on the 14th, the plan for future executive personnel was also approved, and Ms. Haruna Takada, who served as president of soccer J2 and V-Varen Nagasaki, was nominated to replace Kikuko Okajima, who was retiring as the first chair.
It is expected to be formally decided after the regular general meeting of employees and the board of directors on the 29th of this month.
