Rebecca Peterson kicked off the WTA tournament in Chennai, India.

In the first set against 180th ranked Victoria Jiménez Kasintseva, Andorra, Peterson broke every serve game and won the set with a clear 6-2.

In the second, the 95th-ranked Swede ran into a fitter opponent.

The 17-year-old talent already broke in the first game, and after that Peterson did not enter the game.

And Jiménez Kasintseva moved away to 5-2 before Peterson started finding the right.

And then Peterson stood for an impressive turnaround.

Peterson won four straight games to 6-5, and put a lot of pressure on the 17-year-old, who on his own serve would equalize to 6-6.

Peterson was then able to decide the match in a tiebreak where she won 7-4.

In the round of 16, Peterson faces the Czech Linda Fruhvirtova, ranked 130 in the world.
