The Japan Golf Association, which hosts the tournament, announced the players scheduled to participate on the 12th, and specially approved the participation of Baba based on his past achievements.



Baba, a 17-year-old second-year high school student from Hino City, Tokyo, made her first overseas major appearance. He was the first Japanese player to win the title in 37 years.



Regarding her participation in the Japan Women's Open, in an exclusive interview with NHK, Baba said, "I'm very happy because it was a tournament that I definitely wanted to participate in. I want to play aggressively and attack the pin."
