hail penalty

On the eve of the match of the ninth round of the championship of Russia between CSKA and Krasnodar, not only the players and coaches of the opponents, but also the referee Vasily Kazartsev were in the spotlight.

In October last year, he acted as a video assistant at a meeting between the same teams and was at the center of a high-profile scandal.

In the end, the refereeing team had every reason to assign a penalty to the hosts' goal for Igor Diveev's handball, but did not see a violation of the rules and in fact deprived the guests of a clear opportunity to score the only and, possibly, the winning goal.

Moreover, later the VAR referee admitted his mistake, and as an excuse he complained about the quality of the monitors on which he was forced to evaluate that episode.

As a result, the meeting of the 10th round of the RPL ended in a goalless draw, and Kazartsev was suspended from work until the end of 2021.

But already in the second part of the season he returned to his duties and in September he was again appointed responsible for VAR in the confrontation between CSKA and Krasnodar.

And already in the first half, together with the chief referee Sergei Ivanov, he made three fateful decisions that largely determined the outcome of the match.

And every time he stood on the side of the owners.

At the same time, it is impossible to assert that in all three cases the referee team made obvious mistakes.

At the moment with the appointment of the first 11-meter contact between Fedor Chalov and Matvey Safonov really took place.

True, the attacker of the red-blues began to collapse a little earlier, and touched the goalkeeper's knee when he was in a semi-horizontal position.

But the next two episodes were much more controversial.

In a similar situation, Ivanov first missed a penalty against Akinfeev, and then issued a diametrically opposite verdict when the alleged violation occurred in the bulls' penalty area.

It is difficult to say exactly what recommendations Kazartsev gave, but the fact remains.

There are nuances here too.

If in the case of a blow to the leg of Alexei Ionov, the contact was minimal, then Jorge Carrascal got a little stronger.

Therefore, the decision can be justified in this case as well.

Doubts were not caused except that the foul of Caio, who played with his hand in his own penalty area.

As well as the requirement to kill the 11-meter because of Milan Gaich, who ran into the penalty area ahead of schedule.

One way or another, refereeing became the main topic of the central confrontation of the tour and slightly blurred the impression of the bands' performance.

Especially the red and blue ones.

CSKA dominance

And although only one of the four goals of the army team was not scored from the point, their victory can hardly be called unfair.

According to the game, the wards of Vladimir Fedotov were much stronger than the opponent - especially in the first half of the meeting, during which they achieved a comfortable advantage in the long run.

In the second, Krasnodar sometimes managed to pinch CSKA in their third of the field, but the guests experienced serious problems with the creation of dangerous moments.

Ionov didn't show any spectacular action, Olakunle Olusegun sometimes showed his incredible speed, but very often made mistakes in passes, and John Cordoba did not keep up with penetrating passes into the penalty area.

Eduard Spertsyan did not demonstrate his leadership qualities either, he was remembered only by a “shotgun” near his own penalty area.

Because of his unsuccessful back pass, Safonov found himself against two opponents at once,

In general, we can safely say that Fedotov's plan worked perfectly in the confrontation with Krasnodar.

CSKA deliberately gave the initiative to the enemy, but did not allow him to create almost nothing at his own gate.

It is enough to look at at least more than a twofold difference in the number of strokes (14:6).

The "Bulls" traditionally owned the ball a lot, but they did it mainly in their own and central zones, and being under pressure from the owners, they often made mistakes.

In the press, the army team, as usual, looked great and punished for any sluggishness.

And here it is worth noting especially the middle line, which was again made by Victor Mendez and Sasha Zdelar.

Once again, the attacking trio of CSKA showed themselves great, and each of its representatives scored once from the spot.

Chalov looked great in the role of "false nine" and burst into the penalty area perfectly.

Jesús Medina continued to solidify as a shadow leader, and Jorge Carrascal, although not as bright as usual, not only earned a 11-meter, but also had a great opportunity to excel.

After a spectacular combination, the Colombian had only to hit the target from 15 meters, but he did not hit the best way.

Debuts by Roshi and Butchi

By and large, literally every CSKA player deserves high marks for the match with Krasnodar.

Small complaints can only be to Igor Akinfeev, who did not work in the best way in the episode with the goal of Christian Ramirez.

Yes, the Ecuadorian remained in the operational space and hit with virtually no resistance, but a “shot” from almost 30 meters into the near corner was unlikely to cause such problems for the star goalkeeper.

However, the Russian reacted too late and failed to record another “cracker” in his asset.

But a very pleasant impression was made by the updated defensive trio, which was made up of Igor Diveev, Bakhtiyor Zainutdinov and Willian Rocha.

The Brazilian perfectly joined the team and for most of the meeting very successfully restrained Olusegun, who was noticeably superior in speed to him.

And then he switched to the newcomer "bulls" Joao Bachiesu.

Ex-winger "Shavis" appeared on the field in the 70th minute, but did not have a positive impact on the game of the guests.

The Angolan was remembered for only a couple of passes back and became one of the lowest rated representatives of the team according to WhoScored (5.8).

Cayo and Safonov received the same amount.

But Adolfo Gaich scored his first goal this season in the RPL.

The Argentine again came on as a substitute instead of Chalov and took the first opportunity to excel.

However, in this case, it is worth noting the excellent performance of another substitute.

It was the excellent handling and the chic pass of Ivan Oblyakov that allowed CSKA to leave Krasnodar's defense out of work and set the final score of the match - 4:1.

Fedotov's wards became the leaders of the championship in terms of the number of goals, and on points they caught up with Zenit, which occupies the first line.
