In a press conference held in Muscat, in which many Omani institutions and authorities participated, the Undersecretary of the Omani Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and Chairman of the Steering Committee for Program Management, Azzan bin Qassim Al Busaidi, affirmed the interest of the Sultanate of Oman in supporting the efforts of the State of Qatar for the success of hosting the tournament through many areas of cooperation.
He referred to the program's goals of supporting the efforts of the World Cup success, celebrating the historic hosting of the 2022 World Cup in the region, promoting Muscat as a major and exceptional city approved to receive World Cup fans, and providing an accessible and exceptional experience for fans coming to the Sultanate of Oman.
Al Busaidi reviewed the basic components of the program, which include the World Cup fan visa to enter the Sultanate of Oman (Haya card holders), the daily flights program between Muscat and Doha, the airport and transportation facilities program, the hotel program and tourist packages, the events and activities program, in addition to the accompanying promotional campaigns.

For his part, the Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the General Directorate of Passports and Civil Status, Lt. Col. Ahmed bin Saeed Al Ghafri, reviewed the benefits of the exceptional World Cup fan visa to enter the Sultanate of Oman (Haya card holders), which is a free multi-trip visa, enhanced with the extraction feature on arrival and a validity of up to 60 days.
He added that the Haya card holder is also allowed to accompany his first-degree family to enjoy residency in the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to allowing the card holder to change to a visa of another category while in the Sultanate of Oman according to the applicable conditions, and at the end of his speech he reviewed the detailed procedures for obtaining a visa.
The conference also included talks about the daily flights program for World Cup fans on the Doha-Muscat air route, and the program includes flights between Muscat and Doha during the World Cup matches during the months of November and December.
Commenting on the programme, Director of Government Affairs at Oman Air, Khalid bin Abdul Wahhab Al Balushi, said that this program comes in the belief in the importance of this global event, as fans will be able to book one-day flights directly through the Oman Air website at discounted prices.
