In November, the EC will be played in Slovenia, North Macedonia and Montenegro.

The national handball team begins the upload with two international matches against Brazil on September 29 (Uppsala) and October 1 (Eskilstuna).

Last years team captain, junior Carin Strömberg, is replaced.

Also missing are the injured wing players Olivia Mellegård, Clara Lerby and Mathilda Lundström.

Instead, the inexperienced trio Clara Monti Danielsson, Ida Gullberg and Tyra Axnér get the chance.

None of them were in last year's Olympics and WC.

"I have chosen the available players that I consider to be the best at the moment, but we have a couple of weeks left before the EC squad is to be selected and it is by no means nailed down yet.

There is still an opportunity for those who are not selected this time to show that they will take an EC place.

The season has just started and several players have switched to better clubs or leagues and have the potential to take further steps in their development," says Axnér in a press release.

"The skeleton of the last championship squads is still here."

Sweden went to the semi-finals in the Olympics and came fifth at the WC.
