Madelen Janogy made her A national team debut in January 2019 and has played in both the recent WC and Olympics.

But the 26-year-old was left out of the Swedish European Championship squad that traveled to England this summer.

According to national team captain Peter Gerhardsson, Janogy was one of the players who was on the verge of qualifying for the EC.

- It's clear that you get incredibly disappointed, either you're in or you're not and there's nothing I can do there and then.

With this distance, it's incredibly nice to be back and that I handled it the way I did, says the Hammarby player.

"I know my time will come"

Despite the EC disappointment, the striker now looks hopefully at her future in blue and yellow, she hopes to get the chance against Finland - and she wants her football to speak for itself.

- I don't really like to use those words, that you have to prove things, but I know who I am as a footballer and for me it's about going out and working hard.

You feel yourself that you are with and that you are close, so for me it is just a matter of continuing and I know that my time will come, my chance will come, says Janogy.

- It's about constantly delivering and performing and taking the chance.

It's not about a gathering, a training session or a match, but I believe in long-term continuing to do the job and not skimping on details and constantly developing.

That is my focus and I really feel that I do.

On Tuesday, Sweden meets Finland in the WC qualifier, the match will be broadcast on SVT2 at 17.55.
