Midfielder Boström made his debut in the A national team in 1973. Eight years later, he was team captain in the Swedish national team that broke the eleven World Cup, and 22 years, long Soviet World Cup gold streak.

During his career, there was another WC gold and three WC silvers for Boström, who represented Västanfors IF and Västerås SK.

Minute of silence tomorrow

After his playing career, he became a coach, and among other things led Västerås to six SM golds.

VSK writes on the association's website that in connection with the Champions Cup match against Edsbyn tomorrow, they will pay tribute to Boström with a minute's silence, and that the team will then play with black mourning bands.
