Frontale have finished one game more than Yokohama F. Marinos, who have 48 points, to take the provisional lead.
In the 24th round, Gamba Osaka beat Avispa Fukuoka 1-0 with Patrick's goal just before the end.
Gamba has won two straight games, and is level with 12th-placed Avispa on 28 points.
