With barely three months left until the World Cup premiere in Ruka, a positive update comes from Norway.

The skier Ingvild Flugstad Östberg, who has long suffered from major health problems and was forced to sit out the Olympics, has been able to take a new step in his pre-season training.

31-year-old Flugstad Östberg has traveled to Italy on a high-altitude camp.

- In order for me to be able to travel here, my health status needed to go in the direction I had hoped for.

We found out that it looked like this and I was very happy that the trip could be completed, she says to VG.

This is her first high-altitude camp since the summer of 2019. But she is not quite back yet.

- We are not on target with the project.

There is still work to be done, but it is clearly positive that I can be here.

In May, Ingvild Flugstad Östberg announced that she will continue her career outside the national team.

She has now traveled to Italy with her own team, which includes Therese Johaug's former coach Pål Gunnar Mikkelsplass.
