A week after the card in Lille (7-1), Paris Saint-Germain was slowed down for the first time in the Ligue 1 season by AS Monaco, Sunday evening at home (1-1).

A match that saw a Neymar savior of PSG, and a Kylian Mbappé inside shortly after the penaltygate affair.

In an exclusive interview given to the teams of

Europe 1 Sport

, coach Christophe Galtier spoke about the state of mind of two of his three attacking stars, who did not enjoy the same success at the Parc des Princes. , at the start of an infernal calendar for the Parisians.

"There can be no unsaid"

Since the start of the season, the Brazilian has succeeded in almost everything he does, and reflects the image of a player who is having fun on the pitch.

An image far removed from the one he sent back at the end of last season.

"My goal is to make people happy, and the happier a player is, the better he performs," agrees the tactician, at the microphone of Jacques Vendroux and Jean-François Pérès.

"A happy player is always an added value to the team", adds Christophe Galtier, drawing the parallel with an employee of a company.

"To get there, I operate in a very simple way: there can't be anything left unsaid, you have to have a direct, frank dialogue, with a lot of respect, whatever the profile, career and age of the player", details the coach on Europe 1. "The player has the right to tell me everything", continues Christophe Galtier.

"I have to manage to ensure that the player can flourish within the collective, so that he is really an added value to the team."

Mbappé "a little upset" by his injury

This method seems to work with the Brazilian striker.

However, his French counterpart Kylian Mbappé has appeared less confident since the start of the season.

Despite a hat-trick last week in Lille, the Parisian number 7 made a more messy copy on Sunday evening against Monaco, missing a goal almost completely in the first period.

At first happy to have seen him stay in the capital club, Christophe Galtier believes that "his preparation was different because he was obsessed with winning the Champions Trophy. He was suspended, and then he been a little upset with a little adductor problem."

"There was no delay, but his preparation was different", supports Christophe Galtier.
