The Japan Student Championship, which decides the best university swimmers in Japan, has started, and Nihon University fourth-year student Rikako Ikee has won her second straight victory in the 50m freestyle.

The Japan Student Championships will be held at the Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center in Koto Ward, Tokyo for four days from the 28th.

On the first day of the tournament, Ikee, a fourth-year student at Nihon University, competed in the women's 50m freestyle.

Although Ikee said that he had a bad sense of swimming, he advanced to the final with the top time overall, and although he was a little late at the start of the final, from the middle stage onwards, he was able to pull away from the other swimmers with his unique swimming ability, 25.09 seconds. I achieved the tournament's second consecutive victory in this event in time.

After the race, Ikee said, ``She was so tired in the middle of the race that I wondered if she would be okay, but at the end she was able to win firmly, which gave her confidence.'' I was there.

Regarding this tournament, which was his fourth year at university, he said, "I was hospitalized around the first year, and the team accepted me when I came to this tournament when I was temporarily discharged. I competed in the 50m freestyle in the 4th place in the relay, but in my third year, I was the champion and runner-up, so I don't know if I was able to contribute to the team.” I want to do a race that makes everyone think that I was really strong, even if it's just that," he renewed his determination.

In addition to Ikee's relay event, she plans to participate in the women's 100m freestyle on the final day of the tournament.
