Earlier this summer, the federal board of the Swedish Parasport Federation decided to cancel the world championships in cross-country skiing, biathlon, snowboarding and alpine skiing, which were to have been held in Östersund, Åre and Klövsjö in early 2023.

Now comes a reversal, which means that after all, cross-country skiing and biathlon will be arranged in Östersund at the beginning of 2023.

- It feels great that there will be cross-country skiing and biathlon in Östersund in 2023. Although it would have felt even better if we had landed all from the start, but unfortunately it didn't work out and that's how it sometimes is, says Bo Sköld, the parasports association's general secretary, to TT .

May compete at home

The 28-year-old skier and biathlete Zebastian Modin, who competes for Östersunds SK, is Sweden's great hope for gold in the WC.

So now he can get the chance to compete in the para WC at home.

This spring, he made history as Sweden's top winter Paralympian of all time when he won two bronze and one silver during the Paralympics in China.

In addition, he has more para-WC medals on his merit list.
