The Finnish middle-distance runner Nathalie Blomkvist was the first to announce that she was affected by covid-19 during the EC in Munich and now it is clear that the EC gold medalist in the 3000 meters, Topi Raitanen, as well as the long-distance runners Annemari Kiekara, Alisa Vainio and Camilla Richardsson have also passed the same destiny to meet.

Which means that their participation in the Finnkampen, which will be decided on September 3-4 in Helsinki, is in jeopardy.

- We will now see how many people get this.

I suspect there may be more cases to come.

Very sad that so many of our best athletes will be infected so soon before the international competition.

But I certainly hope that everyone stays healthy, says Richardsson and continues:

- Regarding the Sverigekampen, it is too early to say.

I got a fairly mild version and only have a runny nose, but health comes first.

You've still heard the horror stories of long-distance friends who returned too early and then got banned from training for several months.

I learn from their mistakes.
