The players of Sendai Ikuei High School, who won the first national high school baseball championship in the Tohoku region in the summer, returned to Miyagi Prefecture on the afternoon of the 23rd.

In the summer national high school baseball final held on the 22nd, Sendai Ikuei defeated Yamaguchi's Shimonoseki International High School to become the first Tohoku team to win the spring and summer.

A day later, on the 23rd, the Sendai Ikuei players arrived at JR Sendai Station before 3:00 pm on the Shinkansen.

When captain Yuto Sato and other players with the winning shield and Coach Sue appeared at the ticket gate, applause erupted from the crowd who had gathered before their arrival.

Sato received a bouquet of flowers from the station manager of Sendai Station, and the athletes proceeded slowly through the premises, guided by the police and station staff, while being watched by a large number of people gathered on both sides of the aisle.

People around them were shouting congratulations, saying, "Congratulations!"

A woman in her 50s from Shibata Town, Miyagi Prefecture, who recorded a video of the athletes, said, "The athletes were walking with a serious look on their faces, and it was clear that they had overcome tough battles. Miyagi and Tohoku. Thank you for the miracle," he said.
