Confederation captain Peter Gerhardsson's squad is the first since the EC in England to end up with an exit in the semi-finals.

Sweden is already ready for the 2023 World Cup, while opponent Finland may need points to reach second place, which means a playoff.

In that match, Hedvig Lindahl, who has previously been the first goalkeeper, will not participate.

- We have had a conversation and I have said that we will go to the WC with the three best goalkeepers.

If she's one of them she'll be in and if she's the best she'll stand.

During the autumn we will look at other goalkeepers and then we will see, says Peter Gerhardsson.

The goalkeepers selected are Jennifer Falk, Zecira Musovic and Emma Holmgren.

Janogy back

Madelen Janogy, who was not in the EC, has been in good form in Hammarby.

She is now rewarded with a place in the squad for the WC qualifiers.

One who, however, is not with is the faithful servant Sofia Jakobsson.

- In conversation with Sofia, my decision is that this collection she will remain in San Diego and focus on the club team, says Gerhardsson, who has also spoken with Jakobsson's coach about what is best for her development.

Fischer not included

Nilla Fischer, who for family reasons has turned down the national team before, is also not in the squad.

One who cannot join is the regular team captain Caroline Seger.

She has undergone heel surgery and will miss the rest of the season.

Hanna Wijk and Matilda Vinberg are there largely to watch and learn and will later join the U23 squad.

Before the match against Finland, Sweden will be in camp on Gotland.
