Oliver Solberg and the Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux had had a close battle in terms of time throughout the rally in Belgium and the Swede led by only ten seconds before the last two stages.

But when the Frenchman crashed out on the 19th stage, Solberg more or less only needed to finish to secure fourth place.

He pulled it off without any worries and was delighted to finish in fourth place.

- It is so nice.

It has been a tough weekend, says Solberg.

After the last competition in Finland where Solberg crashed, he had to endure a lot of criticism and his confidence hit rock bottom.

- It has been a few very tough weeks, but we have had good teamwork and it is good to succeed all the way at some point.

“Was this the turn?”

Solberg was sixth in the Swedish WC rally this year and fifth last year in Italy, which were his two best positions in the WRC since before.

Today's fourth place came in his eleventh WRC event.

SVT's expert Jonas Kruse believes that the performance was incredibly strong.

- With the pressure and the nerves that must have been on the outside, it's strong.

Now he can build on this.

Was this the turning point for Oliver Solberg?

I really hope so.

Now he showed that he belongs here, says Kruse.

The father: "It's been damn tough"

The world rally champion from 2003, Petter Solberg, sat and watched the finish together with his wife Pernilla.

He was greatly impressed by his son.

- It's absolutely insane, it's been damn tough.

When you've been down like that, you have to build yourself back up and now he didn't make a single mistake all weekend.

But he has more to go on, the father tells SVT Sport and continues:

- I am so happy.

Tänak took the second straight

The Estonian Ott Tänak took his second straight WC victory.

Most recently in Finland and now in Belgium, he took his 17th career victory.

The margin of victory for Elfyn Evans was five seconds.

The victory means that he takes in even more than Kalle Rovanperä in the total.
