Gilles Biron, Loïc Prévot, Téo Andant and Thomas Jordier are on the third step of the podium.

France won the bronze medal in the men's 4x400m relay at the European Athletics Championships in Munich on Saturday.

Gilles Biron, Loïc Prévot, Téo Andant and Thomas Jordier finished in 2 min 59 sec 64, being beaten by the British relay, titled in 2 min 59 sec 35, and by the Belgians (2:59.49).

A better time than at the World Championships

Placed in second position in the wake of the British by the solid passages of Prévot and Andant, Thomas Jordier did not manage to worry the leaders, being overtaken in the final straight by Dylan Borlée, who brought his brother Kévin a 7th European medal, 5th in relay.

The Blues, on the other hand, managed a better time than at the World Championships in Eugene in the United States, where they took 7th place last month (3:01.35).

The tricolor men's relay thus regains the European podium that it had missed in the last two editions (2016 and 2018), after finishing 3rd in 2014, already with Thomas Jordier, also an individual finalist in Munich (8th).
