Zhang Nan wrote: "Considering my own age, physical condition and other factors, as well as the current needs of the national team to train more young players, I think now is the time for me to leave the national team and leave more resources to young players. In the future I will arrange training, competitions and all related badminton activities by myself." Zhang Nan, 32, has won the mixed doubles champion at the London Olympics and the men's doubles champion at the Rio Olympics.
