Falck took a timeout after immediately falling behind against Dang Qiu, but this time the reduction would come in the fourth set.
1–3 gave hope for a final place and a turnaround similar to the one in the quarter-finals against Truls Möregårdh, but the fifth set was instead really tight.
Several mistakes by Falck proved to be costly and decisive, when Dang Qiu managed to win the set and thus secure the victory.
This means that Mattias Falck has to settle for an EC bronze.
